MOVE IN DAY!

Move in day was amazing...despite knowing that my parents would leave at the end of the day...I was excited for all the new opportunities. We left at 6 in the morning and Cassie rode with me in my car and parents were in the truck. The truck was jam-packed and I had a lot of stuff in my car =) Kind of embarassing...but i would rather have it than not! I saw a few CARS pass us with nothing but what was in the car...including the people!

Anyway when we arrived on campus I called my roomate, Karen, to let her know I was here and she said she needed a few minutes because she just woke up...well needless to say...she was abruptly shocked by 12 burly men hauling all my sttuff to the room. I originally wanted to check everything out first before bringing everything up...but before I knew it, all my stuff was on the floor of our room. I was thinking what a great first impression I had made. I am sure that each of those guys took 2 trips each. * I felt like a movie star when I got out of my car becuase all these men rushed to be of assistance. * The best thing is that none of us had to sweat over carrying everything up to the second floor.

When everything was in the room I was so overwhelmed and I didn't even know where to start. The biggest projects were laying out the carpet and then getting the shelves in the closet...with a few corrections...the extra shelving was well needed. The carpet really changes the aspect of the room and is way better than no carpet. Thanks Dad, we love the room. Oh and the mirror he made makes the room look so big. Once I started unpacking, I couldn't stop becuase I love decorating and making it feel like home. So far, I think the adjustment is going so well because I love my roomate and our room feels so welcoming compared to all the others! Thanks Mom, Dad, and Cassie for all your help...I couldn't have done it without you!

Before my parents left we went out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant and it was so good that I took a take-out menu and put in on my bulletin board! I don't really think it has hit me that I am stuck here for nine months, but I am definitly looking foward to going home already because I do miss everyone ( Mom and Dad ). I think once school starts, the stress will pile on and I will want to be home more than ever, but I am just taking one day at a time.

Last night Karen and I hosted our first movie party! We had seven people over for popcorn and a movie. I am slowly meeting new people and I can't wait until classes to meet more people. I have included some pictures of our room...don't be too jealous. I love visitors so you are welcome anytime! I will post tomorrow with some of the things I have done so far this weekend. There have been lots of fun events planned!

Have a Great Day and God Bless!
