Over MEA weekend I had a blast going to my cabin with all of our family and friends! We had six familes up there totally 28 people...can you say ALOT! After being away at college for two months, it was fun to come back and share stories with all my family friends and tell how much I love college! Although the weekend was a blast, I sometimes felt out of the loop, as I was the oldest kid up there...and not in high school anymore.
Over the course of the weekend, I got to spend quality time with my cousins and catch up on what we have missed out on with each other the past two months...much need conversations! We also played pool, darts, and night games. On Friday night, we jumped on my dad's haywagon and he took us to the back field where he had a HUGE brush pile that we had a bonfire with! It was so warm we sat 50 feet away from it.
On our way to the bonfire!
Sittin by the fire...just barely any of the fire!
On Saturday, all the families brought a type of soup that we started cooking early in the morning for the afternoon meal after the haywagon ride. We piled our couches , blankets, and 30-some people on this haywagon for a two hour extravaganza through the woods! It was so relaxing in the sun. We also shot trp in the back of the shed...I shot one box of amo...and didnt hit one clay pigeon...but it was still alot of fun. After the day of fun events, we enjoyed our soup and awaited the darkness so that we could go to the Haunted Corn Maze.
Filling up the tractor at the Junction!
We got the seat in the back.
So on Saturday night we all went to the Haunted Corn Maze for the 3rd year in a row. This year the corn was 8ft tall...so we already knew it was going to be scary. The first time we went though (YES...WE SERIOUSLY WENT THROUGH IT TWICE) was not as scary becuase the group ahead of us got all the scary stuff ...so we knew what was coming up. The second time was unbelievable scared...because my partner in crime ditched me and I was all alone =( and then three of us girls got cornered in a dead end for five minutes in croutching position becuase this warewolf was hovering over us...they are not supposed to touch us...but this one did...we were crying we were so scared.
I definitly won the award for LOUDEST...and MOST TO SCREAM!
Riding on the haywagon to the cornmaze...if you look closely at the guy sitting next to me...he is holding a mask in his hand...hence I did not sit very close to him...he scared me even without the mask.
Scary CLOWNS...I absolutly hate jokers and clowns!
Look at my face...I am so scared!
Chainsaw guy...can you say TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE!
Take a look at those masks...you would be scared!
The headless horseman...if you saw this prancing across a dark field at you...you would pee your pants a little to...especially if you thought the person was really headless...and didn't understand how this worked!
On Sunday after a long drive home, I was excited to be back on campus...that is until I got a phone call at midnight saying that a really colse friend passed away in an auto accident. Rachael Morris, daughter of my second family, Brad and Cindy, sister to Andy (MY BEST FRIEND), Davie, and Bryon, died at the age of 22. This is still so surreal to me, but I was able to go home on Wednesday and Thursday to the wake to be there to support a family that I love dearly. I was happy to be there for my best friend, as I can't even imagine what he is going through.
Please say a prayer for this family and keep them in mind as they are going through a very difficult time in their lives.
Rachael, You will be missed dearly and this is not a goodbye, but merely a see you again someday!
