22 Years!

Today marks a very improtant day to a lot of people out there, but it is extra special in my family. Today I had the opportunity to celebrate both Father's Day with my dad and my brother's birthday. Travis turned 22, which also means that my dad has been a father for exactly 22 years! Wow...what an accomplishment! Thanks for being the greatest dad ever.

DAD - I can't begin to explain how much you have influenced me in my life. You have always been there and encouraged me to be my best and never underestimate myself. From spending weekends in the crib in the garage, Saturday breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, to nightly walks and rollerblading, to weeknight shopping sprees to Menards, we sure have memories that will last a life time. You have provided me with so many good qualities that I know will be passed on to my kids...its hard to believe I am almost 20 and I hope that we have so much more to look foward to in the future. Thanks for letting me fulfill the spot of your little girl becuase I love to refer to myself as a Daddy's Girl. I definitly miss our time spent together when I am off at college, but I know you will always let me pick up where I left off when I get home. You are amazing and I wouldn't have asked for any different dad...but like I had a choice right? Good thing I like you cuase I don't think there is the TV Show "Dad Swap" yet... Anyway, don't change and I will be there for you as you have been here for me!

Awhile ago we got back from visiting Travis at his school. We brought out stuff for a BBQ and had a wonderful afternoon. Grandma and Grandpa Wishy came along and it was fun to share this day with them. Despite the humidity and few sprinkles, it was great to tour Trav's house and just have a relaxing afternoon.

TRAVIS - I am so glad to be able to call you brother. You are such an amazing person even though I don't always tell you! I look up to you more than anyone else, but don't always want to admit it. I love that we are both older now and can share more with each other. It means a lot to me when we can hold a conversation and enjoy each other's company. Thanks for always being there and letting me be a part of your life. I know alot of people who don't have a relationship like we have and I am very fortunate of that!

Now moving backward to the big event of last week...TATTOO WITH MOM
I finally convinced my mom to get a tattoo with me. I have always wanted to get something to honor my mom and her battle with cancer. It was the least I could do to make up for all that she went through. This is something that is PERMANENT and will be a daily reminder of how blessed I am to have her in my life. Here our some pictures of the big day!

My design

Just about to get started! Are you sure you want to do this?

Starting the outling...This is supposed to be the most painful part of the body and I had to ask him if he was even doing anything beucase I couldn't really feel it at first.

Yes I even fell asleep...I think I got to the point where I was numb and couldn't feel it anymore!

Lucky tattooing me! He did and awesome job! IDENTITY TATTOO

Working on the teal...funny story...he almost did them PINK...until we corrected him just before he started. Pink is the common color so he just assumed that! That would have been shockingly PERMANENT!

Auntie Michelle supervising and talking to Lucky throughout the process.

One hour and twenty minutes later...the finished product! I LOVE IT!

This means so much to me!

My mom on the otherhand opted for a much smaller version. It took about 15 minutes, but she was sure happy when he was done. I was surprised of how much pain she was in despite everything she has been through! I am so proud of her for doing this with me and I definitly think she is happy with the outcome...as am I!

It looks great! Look at the heart in the middle!

What a great thing to do to honor such a great event. She will be 5 years cancer free in February!

Lastly here is a picture of all the cousins (except Travis) at Mikey Fogarty's wedding!
