Blue Angel

Wow! Two posts in one week...don't get too excited! This past weekend was probably one of the greatest weekends that I have had at SMU this year! After a week of long and strenuous rehearsals, the three shows that were put on this weekend were amazing.

On Friday night, I must say I felt I did my best performance. I was so excited because my mom come down that evening and spent the night with me. It was fun to have her stay in my room because my roommate was gone and we were able to catch up on lots of fun stuff. She got to enjoy the show and many acts, as well as hang out with her favorite daughter. On Saturday we got to go out to eat and go shopping! It was a fun girls weekend. After she left it was another day of preparing for two shows...the biggest one being at 10PM.

The 7PM show that night was a small crowd, mostly because parents and alumni come to this show. It was more or less a warm up for what was to come at the 10PM show! Little did I know that I would be expecting a surprise for the 10PM show. Just before that show started I got a phone call from Travis wishing me good luck on the next show; at the same time I could hear voices in the background, but I just assumed they were people at the Stout hockey game. I was very shocked to hear him say that he was standing in front of a place called the Cardinal Club when I asked what he was up to. For those of you who don't know...the Cardinal Club is the pub here on MY campus...meaning Travis was on MY campus and coming to see the show. Now I got even more nervous, but super thrilled. I wanted to do my best. The crowd was so pumped at the 10PM that it makes the performers so ready to just get up there and do their best! I had really wanted Travis to come see it, but I knew he was super busy with his huge construction test. What an awesome brother to take the time to drive out and spend the night with me. On Sunday morning we went to mass together and then went out to breakfast before he left.

After an exhausting weekend, I relaxed on Sunday and enjoyed a hike up to the rock on such a beautiful day!

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

What a great weekend. I hope to audition for the show that us Fraternity sisters host in February!
