Since last Tuesday... I started teaching religion classes on Wednesday night. Our class is going to be so much fun and they are eighth graders. They actually admitted that they were excited to come back this week. It has been such a busy week that we haven't even made our lesson plans yet...
On Thursday, I went to Winona State to visit my friend Molly from high school. We caught up on our summers and enjoyed sandwiches at the Acoustic Cafe! After we ate we walked around Winona and then went to this improve comedy group that came to her school. That was one of the funnest things I have done so far. It was very entertaining and lasted over 2 hours. I have been finding myself staying up later and later, but somehow managing to still finish my homework!
On Friday, Karen, Chelsea, and myself decided to dress up for the fun off it! We didn't want to be in our rooms all night, so we decided to go to the "College Dance"...who does that...? It was boring at first so we went to a friends room to hang out and then when we went back to the dance it was hopping. Let me tell you by the time I finished dancing I my legs were so tired I thought I was going to collapse. It was such a great time. Then we decided to just walk around the campus and hang out with friends! This was definitly a start of a good weekend!
This picture has some weird facial expressions...but thats cause Karen and Tim didn't know we were supposed to smile. On the right is my friend Alex and I.
More at the dance...
On Saturday I went to Winona State again in the afternoon and met up with another friend from back home. We went to Jeffersons in Winona and I had my first "real" burger since I have been here! It was so good. When we were at the restaurant, there were some clowns because there was a parade in Winona that day and the clowns were making balloon shapes for people in the restaurant. He made me a hat and Maureen a heart. After that we went back to her spacious dorm room and hung out...once agin catching up on old times!
Wow...I look terrible in this pic...the static of the balloon did not go so well!
I was so carried away by these balloon creatures that I forgot to get a picture of the two of us together.
The rest of the weekend I just hung out with friends and had one of the funnest weekends I have had since coming here! Most people usually leave on weekends, but it was not bad this weekend.
On Sunday, I went to the third Alpha Sigma Iota Female Music Fraternity. I am really enjoying the company of the girls and what they do as a group, so I think I am going to pledge next semester and be a "sister!"
I am off to bed becuase it is almost 1AM, and I promise not to keep you waiting a whole week next time.
Have a GREAT DAY!
