On Friday, my friends Maria (in the middle) and Sheree (on the right and from NEW ZEALAND!) and I went into the bluffs where there are a bunch of apple trees. We decided to pick a bunch, as you can see, and we made apple sauce. It was a lot of fun and we let like 20 girls try it! They all loved, so we plan to make it again. We are also going to try making apple pie or apple crisp.
First we peeled the apples, then diced them and added sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Then we baked them in the oven on for 45 minutes and then smashed them. It might not look appealing...but it was DELICIOSO!
Today, Sunday, was also a very exciting day. Not only did I start out my day by going to mass, but I once again sang with the church choir and also was a EUCHARISTIC MINISTER. I handed out the body (it was only me and the priest handing out the body), and then four people with the wine! I was so nervous, but it went really well!
After mass, I went shopping to the Hy-Vee and then the Dollar Story becuase a group of us girls are making a birthday dinner for our friends birthday tomorrow! The BEST PART of shopping was finding a $20 BILL just lying in the store. I consciously needed to tell someone, so when I went to pay, I asked if someone reported missing it, and she said no so she let me keep it! I am used to finding pennies on the ground...not $20 bills stratigically placed on a shelf...I felt like it was my lucky day!
We also made puppy chow today, and it was so good! Now I am just chilling in my room, getting ready to start my THIRD week of school...CRAZY!
